PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tiit Lehiste (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Metzger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lehiste comes to the cage accompanied by Pimelinna legend. Matt Metzger will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Metzger!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lehiste tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Metzger swivels and escapes.
Lehiste shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lehiste is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lehiste.

Metzger explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lehiste can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Metzger is looking to escape.

Metzger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Metzger kicks Lehiste off and gets to his feet.
Metzger goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Lehiste shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Metzger counters by moving into the clinch.
Metzger wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lehiste drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lehiste keeps control of Metzger as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lehiste has Metzger pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Metzger manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Metzger is working for takedown but Lehiste is calmly controlling the position for now.

Matt Metzger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Metzger has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
