The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinksy plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Putin moves in looking to clinch but Pinksy pushes him off.

and Pinksy counters with a three punch combo that has Putin backing up. Putin nods at Pinksy to acknowledge the strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Putin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Putin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pinksy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Putin somewhat.

Pinksy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pinksy, as that shot connected.

Pinksy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Putin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Putin might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Pinksy has got the better of the exchanges.

Pinksy lunges at Putin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Putin's hand.
Putin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pinksy's waist but Pinksy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Putin off to one side.

Pinksy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Putin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Pinksy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pinksy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Putin on the ground.
Putin stands and throws Pinksy's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Putin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pinksy has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Putin but great work by Pinksy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pinksy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
