Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Pusher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Mendosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Pusher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Mendosa!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendosa tries for a takedown but Pusher sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mendosa shoots in for a takedown but Pusher shows good takedown defense.
The fighters circling - Pusher throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mendosa staying out of range there.
Pusher looks to throw the jab but Mendosa is out of range.
Mendosa fails with a takedown attempt.
Thomas Pusher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Mendosa.

Pusher tries to keep at a distance but Mendosa has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mendosa drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pusher pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mendosa moves out of range of the strikes.

Mendosa scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mendosa seems to be working for a kimura but Pusher defends the submission attempt.

Mendosa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Mendosa looks gassed!
Pusher is trying to stand.
Pusher on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pusher tries to get out of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendosa moves nicely into side control.
Pusher knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendosa on the ground.

Mendosa goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Pusher rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mendosa's guard! Nice work there by Pusher!

Mendosa working for a triangle but Pusher defends it easily.
Pusher would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mendosa has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pusher is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mendosa.
Pusher wants to stand but Mendosa has his arm trapped.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mendosa looking for a sweep but Pusher has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Pusher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pusher controlling from mount.
Mendosa tries to hold on but Pusher pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mendosa regains half guard.
Mendosa gets full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pusher wants to stand but Mendosa has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Mendosa should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Mendosa working for a triangle but Pusher defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Mendosa dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A jab from Pusher misses.
Mendosa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pusher avoids it really well and circles away.
Nice defenses there by Mendosa.
Pusher connects with a solid leg kick.
Pusher wants to clinch.
Pusher works the jab nicely.
Mendosa shoots for a takedown but Pusher saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mendosa shoots in but no luck this time.
Thomas Pusher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Mendosa.
Mendosa drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pusher flashes Mendosa a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Mendosa's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Mendosa crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Pusher punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Thomas Pusher!
