Blackheart comes into the arena with Dimmu Borgir - Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse blaring out of the sound system. Nowell is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Doin Time. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blackheart throws a nice looking combination but Nowell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Blackheart throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nowell.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nowell lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Nowell is trying to trip Blackheart. He has hold of a leg but Blackheart is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Nowell persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Blackheart wants to stand but Nowell is controlling the position.
Blackheart on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Blackheart tries to get out of the position.

Nowell slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Nowell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Nowell is pushing down on Blackheart's leg trying to pass to half guard. Blackheart is fighting to maintain full guard but Nowell has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nowell passes the guard and advances to mount!

Nowell goes for an armbar but Blackheart turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Blackheart.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!



Nowell closes the distance and clinches.
A knee to the head by Nowell.
Blackheart is trying to break the clinch but Nowell has him pressed against the cage.

Come on Nowell - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Nowell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Blackheart is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Blackheart is trying to force a seperation but Nowell has the dominant position.
Nowell lands an elbow inside.


Frank Blackheart's cut is getting worse.
Nowell lands a big knee! That's hurt Blackheart! Oh, he's all over the place! Nowell lands another knee that sends Blackheart to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
