Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chimera tries to clinch but Alves moves out of range.
Alves looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Alves gets caught flat footed, as Chimera shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Alves is working an open guard so Chimera takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Alves throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Chimera looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Alves!
Chimera connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Chimera controlling his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chimera is landing with some decent strikes but Alves is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Alves tries to improve his position but Chimera has taken his back! Chimera has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Alves tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Chimera pushes Alves away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
