Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Corey Cormier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amadeus Astra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cormier comes to the cage accompanied by Pharoahe Monch - Simon Says. Corey Cormier has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Astra tries to clinch but Cormier moves out of range.
Astra changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cormier tries to avoid it but Astra manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cormier to the ground. Cormier escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A slow jab from Cormier misses its intended target.
Cormier missing with a left hand there. Astra was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Astra tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Astra throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Astra rushes Cormier and presses him up against the cage.
Astra tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cormier smiles and moves away.
Astra dodges the punch combination from Cormier.
Astra will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Corey Cormier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amadeus Astra.
Astra throws a nice looking combination but Cormier bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Astra lands a jab-cross combination.

It looks like Corey Cormier has been cut.

Astra has managed to clinch.
Astra tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cormier smiles and moves away.
Astra lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cormier circles away quickly and effectively.

Cormier gets caught flat footed, as Astra shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Astra throws a big shot that misses.
Astra looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cormier throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Astra cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

BOOM! Astra connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Astra lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Astra scoring with strikes but Cormier is staying in there.

Astra looking for a guillotine from mount but Cormier is having none of it.

Astra is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Cormier is desperately trying to improve his position but Astra has a good base and remains in mount.

Astra is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Astra extends the arm and Cormier is forced to tap!
