Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Regal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos da Guia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos da Guia is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Regal tries to clinch but da Guia is having none of it.

da Guia clinches up against the cage.
da Guia is leaning against Regal and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
da Guia goes for a takedown in the clinch but Regal prevents it.
da Guia will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Regal up against the cage.

da Guia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
da Guia avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Regal shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as da Guia sprawls well. da Guia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Regal gets slowly back to his feet.
Regal shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for da Guia with that takedown attempt.
da Guia shoots for a double leg takedown but Regal sprawls well. He's pushed da Guia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Arnold Regal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos da Guia.

Regal tries for a takedown but da Guia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Regal is breathing heavily.

da Guia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A lazy body kick from Regal

and da Guia counters with a single leg into guard. Regal didn't expect that.
Regal can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as da Guia controls the pace.
da Guia tries to free his leg and advance position but Regal is retaining full guard.
da Guia passes Regal's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
da Guia seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Regal does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Regal is looking to control da Guia's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Regal avoid being mounted?
da Guia is controlling the pace.

Regal throws a leg kick that is checked
and da Guia counters with a solid body kick.
da Guia connects with a high kick.

da Guia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Regal looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
da Guia is putting a hurting on Regal here, landing some big shots from side control.
Regal on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Regal tries to get out of the position.
da Guia is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Regal's shoulder. That is not cool.

da Guia stands up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and da Guia counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Still in the clinch, da Guia scores with a nice short uppercut.

Regal tries to score a body lock takedown but da Guia shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Oh Regal is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
