PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Levi Coffey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Collin Duffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Collin Duffy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Levi Coffey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Collin Duffy!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duffy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Coffey manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Coffey not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Duffy chips away with some ground and pound.
Duffy throwing strikes but missing.
Coffey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Duffy wants to control from the top but Coffey keeps moving.
Coffey is striking off his back. Duffy thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Duffy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Coffey keeps working.

Duffy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Coffey is trying to stand back up but Duffy is controlling him

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Duffy turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Duffy.
Duffy wants to clinch up but Coffey keeps it at a distance.
Duffy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Coffey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Duffy somewhat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Coffey rushes Duffy and presses him up against the cage.
Duffy is working for takedown but Coffey is calmly controlling the position for now.
Coffey misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Coffey pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Coffey pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Duffy wants to clinch

and Coffey counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Coffey.

Coffey stands and steps away. Duffy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Duffy counters with a three punch combo that has Coffey backing up. Coffey nods at Duffy to acknowledge the strikes.
Coffey is breathing heavily.
Coffey throws a lazy head kick

and Duffy counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Coffey is looking to improve his position.
Duffy working the head and body with strikes.

Duffy stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Duffy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Coffey is working an open guard so Duffy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Duffy drives through with a takedown into guard.
Duffy wants to stand but Coffey is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duffy thows a big elbow that misses.
Duffy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Coffey doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Coffey had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Duffy defends it easily.
Duffy preventing the sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Collin Duffy dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Duffy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Coffey was covering up waiting for the punch and Duffy finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Duffy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Duffy controls from within his opponent's guard.
Coffey looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Duffy puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Coffey tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Duffy has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Coffey slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Duffy is thwarting Coffey's attempts to control the position.
Duffy looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Collin Duffy has got the better of the ground game so far.
Duffy drops an elbow to the side of Coffey's head.
Coffey tries to kick Duffy off in order to stand up. Duffy Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Duffy is looking to take a break and control but Coffey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Coffey is trying to buck Duffy off.
Coffey is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Duffy cracks Coffey with a big right hand but Coffey just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Duffy tries for a kimura but Coffey is defending well.
Coffey is looking for a sweep.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Duffy cracks Coffey with a big elbow.
Coffey tries to buck Duffy off but Duffy is having none of it.

Duffy decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Coffey misses with a kick to the body.
Duffy tests Coffey's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Coffey shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Duffy moves into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Coffey looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Coffey goes for a takedown attempt but Duffy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Duffy.
Coffey tries to improve position but can't.

Duffy has hold of Coffey's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Coffey tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Duffy cranks the arm and Coffey screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Coffey, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Collin Duffy!
