The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urpilainen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Deniz as he jumps to the side.
Urpilainen shoots in and drives through. Deniz sprawls well.
Urpilainen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Deniz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Urpilainen has managed to clinch.
Urpilainen drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jutta Urpilainen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Urpilainen has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Deniz regains guard immediately.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Urpilainen seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Deniz is holding on tight.

Urpilainen looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Urpilainen tries to control but Deniz wriggling away.
