Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Kirkovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kirkovich's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Crazy Autotune. Nick Diaz has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz throws a shot to the body.

Diaz shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Kirkovich has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Diaz throws a right hand that Kirkovich ducks under and follows up with a left that Kirkovich also avoids with ease.

Kirkovich takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Diaz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kirkovich lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Diaz!

Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Diaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Diaz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kirkovich manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Diaz has Kirkovich in his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Diaz wants to get back to his feet but Kirkovich is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kirkovich is looking for a kimura but Diaz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kirkovich to get the leverage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well Diaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
