Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murdock Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grande Pocho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grande Pocho has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Murdock Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Grande Pocho!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Jr misses its intended target.

Jr rushes Pocho and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Pocho gets control of Jr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pocho will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Jr connects with a couple of short punches.
Pocho looking for a sweep. Not yet Pocho, not yet.
Jr postures up.

Pocho has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jr thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Pocho lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jr!

Pocho tries to control but Jr wriggling away.
Pocho is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Jr is wriggling around trying to escape.

Pocho wants to take his opponent's back but Jr doesn't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jr defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Pocho.
Jr tries to reverse the position but Pocho maintains control.
Pocho trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Jr is working to get back to half guard.

Pocho can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jr is looking to escape.
Jr has given up his back.

Pocho is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Pocho is looking to control Jr but Jr is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Pocho is trying to stick to Jr's back but Jr is turning into Pocho. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pocho's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jr.

Jr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pocho dives on top into guard.

Pocho is trying to control. Jr wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Pocho is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Pocho can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jr is looking to escape.
Jr keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pocho is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Jr is in real trouble.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jr tries to clinch up.
Pocho takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Jr throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pocho sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pocho tests Jr's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jr avoids the body shot from Pocho.
Jr shoots in for a double leg but Pocho sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jr lands in his opponent's guard.

Jr controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jr is in close to Pocho's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Jr trying to control the position from guard on top but Pocho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jr drops back looking for a leg! Pocho is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pocho manages to kick Jr off! Jr jumps back into Pocho's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pocho utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Pocho is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pocho uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jr.

Pocho ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jr moves away.
Pocho swats away the attempt to clinch by Jr.
Murdock Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Pocho with that takedown attempt.

Jr throws a right hand that Pocho ducks under and follows up with a left that Pocho also avoids with ease.
Pocho uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jr.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pocho shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jr counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Grande Pocho has been cut.
Murdock Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grande Pocho.

Jr throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Jr throws a shot from downtown. Pocho moves away and avoids it.
Jr does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Pocho is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jr.
Jr looks to land a right hand but Pocho moved out of range.
Jr lands a jab to Pocho's midsection.

Pocho tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jr just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pocho blocks a punch to the side of the head.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Jr has Pocho pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jr pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pocho tumbling to the mat - Jr dives into Pocho's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Pocho gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Jr misses with a knee strike.
Pocho is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jr pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Jr lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Jr lands a damaging elbow.
Jr gets through Pocho's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Jr.
A nice left hand lands by Jr.
Jr misses with a punch on the inside.
Nice body punch from Jr - that landed with a thud.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jr.
Jr lands a nice uppercut.
Jr cracks Pocho with a nice body shot.
Pocho takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jr creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Pocho's defenses.
Jr tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Jr is pressed up against the cage. Pocho has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jr down to the mat. Jr avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pocho napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Murdock Jr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jr cracks Pocho with a big right hand but Pocho just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Pocho is looking to reverse the position.
Pocho takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Jr tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Jr creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Pocho tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Jr presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Pocho can't escape the position.

Jr wants to finish this one by submission but Pocho is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Jr.

Jr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pocho doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jr.

Well Jr has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
