Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mika Huima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanamichi Ono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mika Huima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hanamichi Ono!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ono tries to close the distance and clinch up but Huima swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ono shoots in but Huima avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ono keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Huima.
A combination from Ono does no damage.
Huima closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ono circles away.
Ono moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Huima blocks a head kick by Ono.

Huima keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ono tries a head kick but it misses.
Huima shoots and misses
and Ono counters with a three punch combo that has Huima backing up. Huima nods at Ono to acknowledge the strikes.
Ono throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Huima on the side of the head.
Ono moves in looking to clinch but Huima pushes him off.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ono drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ono is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ono working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Huima wants to sweep here but Ono controlling him for the moment.
Ono working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Huima can't keep his opponent in guard - Ono advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ono not doing much here.
Ono really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Huima. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ono takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Huima actively working from the bottom here.
Huima is breathing heavily.
Huima is staying active underneath Ono, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ono is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Despite being in the dominant position, Hanamichi Ono just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ono lands a jab-cross combination.
Huima shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ono counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mika Huima. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Huima misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Ono controlling the action here.
Huima manages to get to full guard.

Huima is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Huima manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ono manages to get himself to full guard.
Huima working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Huima forces his way into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Huima connects with a nice short shot to Ono's temple.
Huima works his way into full mount!
Huima lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Huima is trying to take his opponent's back.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Huima lands with some strikes.
Ono wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Huima.
Huima pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Huima looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Huima wants to finish this one by submission but Ono is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Huima.

Huima with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Ono has left one of his arms exposed and Huima doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Ono screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
