Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rauno Rauhala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rauhala has chosen Kreator, Impossible Brutality as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Rauno Rauhala enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richard Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rauno Rauhala!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenkins gets a takedown into half guard.
Jenkins thows a huge punch but Rauhala dodges it nicely.
Jenkins working the head and body with strikes.
It looks like Jenkins is going to stand back up.
Jenkins missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Rauhala is trying to get back to full guard.
Jenkins seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rauhala does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rauhala gets full guard.
Jenkins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rauhala is keeping the position for now.
Jenkins trying to control but Rauhala is working from the bottom.

Jenkins throwing strikes from guard but Rauhala blocks nicely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jenkins shoots in for a takedown but Rauhala shows good takedown defense.
Jenkins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rauhala circles away.
A nice leg kick lands there from Jenkins.
Jenkins tries to clinch up.

Jenkins has managed to clinch.
Jenkins is pressed up against the cage. Rauhala has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jenkins down to the mat. Jenkins avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Rauhala is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Jenkins tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Rauhala avoids it.

Rauhala prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Jenkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jenkins tries to land knees in the clinch but Rauhala avoids the damage to the body.

Jenkins breaks the clinch.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jenkins.
Rauhala looks gassed!
Rauhala keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jenkins pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Richard Jenkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rauhala stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rauhala wants it to stay on the feet.
Jenkins swings for the body but Rauhala moves out of range.
Jenkins throws a head kick that misses.

Rauhala has Jenkins up against the cage in a clinch.
Jenkins goes for a takedown attempt but Rauhala pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Rauhala has taken the fight to the clinch.

Jenkins is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rauhala is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jenkins to the mat. Jenkins regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Jenkins looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rauhala looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jenkins tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jenkins is working hard here to advance position.

Rauhala gets to his feet - Jenkins follows without any prompting.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jenkins.

Rauhala drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rauhala postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Jenkins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rauhala controls the pace.

Jenkins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jenkins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jenkins looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rauhala content to stall in guard here.

That was a close round but I would say that Richard Jenkins will probably get the nod.
That's time! Jenkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Rauhala connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rauhala throws a leg kick but Jenkins sees it coming and moves out of range.
Rauhala fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rauhala tries to close the distance and clinch but Jenkins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jenkins lands a glancing blow to the side of Rauhala's head.
Rauhala is breathing heavily.
Rauhala lands a really nice looking cross but Jenkins seems unphased.
Jenkins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jenkins shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Rauhala counters with a shoot takedown. Jenkins fights it but they end up in guard.

Jenkins looking for a sweep. Not yet Jenkins, not yet.
Rauhala seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Jenkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rauhala distracts Jenkins with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Jenkins is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jenkins had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rauhala defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rauhala trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jenkins's guard.
Rauhala is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jenkins has his foot on Rauhala's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rauhala works his way back into a safe position though.

Rauhala got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jenkins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rauhala has managed to get both his arms back between Jenkins's legs - danger averted.
Rauhala is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jenkins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rauhala gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rauhala is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Rauhala sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Jenkins throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rauhala passes Jenkins's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jenkins tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rauhala has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Jenkins is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rauhala pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Rauhala looking to control and managing it successfully.
Jenkins is in all sorts of trouble here.

Jenkins keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Rauno Rauhala showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Jenkins is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rauhala gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jenkins successfully pulls guard.
Rauhala stays in close to Jenkins's body and controls the position.

Rauhala is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jenkins is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rauhala holds on and takes a little breather.
Jenkins wants to stand and escape but instead Rauhala has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Jenkins wants to sweep here but Rauhala controlling him for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jenkins manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rauhala can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rauhala wants to control but Jenkins is having none of it.
BOOM! Jenkins connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jenkins trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Rauhala sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Rauhala wants to get back to full guard.
Jenkins wants to free his trapped foot but Rauhala is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jenkins tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Rauhala is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Rauhala is trying to maintain the position but Jenkins is very close to passing his half guard.

Jenkins is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rauhala has his hands clasped together around Jenkins's back. He's all about the action.
Jenkins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rauhala's head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Rauhala clinches up with Jenkins and pushes him back against the cage.
Jenkins lands a knee to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Richard Jenkins.
I think Jenkins has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
