Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between nerkki Hononen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pera Pervo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for nerkki Hononen has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hononen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Pervo was covering up waiting for the punch and Hononen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Pervo wants to sweep but no luck.
Pervo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hononen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pervo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hononen has managed to get both his arms back between Pervo's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pervo throws and elbow that misses. Hononen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pervo's guard. Nice move by Hononen!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pervo wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pervo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pervo is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hononen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hononen!

Pervo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hononen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hononen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Pervo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hononen uses from the top position.

Pervo has hold of Hononen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hononen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pervo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hononen is squirming around, avoiding Pervo's attempts to control the action.

Hononen is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Pera Pervo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pervo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
