Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nitro KayS (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cyrus Donovan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donovan avoids a punch combination nicely.

KayS shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Donovan but Donovan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
KayS is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Donovan drives through and clinches with KayS against the cage.
KayS keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Donovan's efforts to push away.
KayS is trying to drag Donovan to the mat but Donovan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Come on Donovan - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Donovan manages to pull guard.
Donovan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with KayS. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

KayS trying to control but Donovan is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

KayS decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Donovan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Donovan wants to get up but he can't break KayS's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

KayS is working an open guard so Donovan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Donovan wants to clinch up but KayS keeps it at a distance.
KayS tries for a takedown but Donovan circles away easily
and Donovan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

KayS rushes Donovan and presses him up against the cage.
Donovan is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Donovan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and KayS counters with a two punch combo.

Donovan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Donovan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

KayS defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Donovan.

KayS fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Donovan manages to avoid it.

Donovan shoots in and bounces KayS off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
KayS is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with KayS in particular looking to stall.
Donovan tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

KayS wants to control but Donovan is keeping him busy.

Cyrus Donovan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Donovan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Donovan wants to get back to full guard.

KayS drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and KayS jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

KayS stops Donovan from standing up.
Cyrus Donovan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

KayS working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Nitro KayS showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Donovan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
