PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brownie Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rockstar. The key to victory for Brownie Jenkins has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brownie Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Peters!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins lands with a nice combination. Peters backs away looking to recover.
A combination from Jenkins does no damage.

Jenkins closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Peters to the mat! Peters manages to get full guard.
Jenkins thows a big elbow that misses.
Peters not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Peters wants to sweep here but Jenkins controlling him for the moment.
Peters pulls Jenkins in close to prevent any damage.

Jenkins stands and steps away. Peters gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

George Peters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

enabling Jenkins to counter with a crisp jab.

Peters feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jenkins is looking to stand up but Peters isn't so interested in that idea.

Peters has his foot on Jenkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jenkins works his way back into a safe position though.

Jenkins distracts Peters with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Brownie Jenkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Peters.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Peters escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jenkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jenkins postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Jenkins lands a couple of elbows.

Jenkins is working Peters over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Peters manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jenkins manages to get himself to full guard.

Peters working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jenkins's head.
Jenkins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Peters sitting in guard here, content to control.
Jenkins wants to get back to his feet but Peters is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Peters with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Peters had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jenkins defends it easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Peters looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jenkins is one step ahead there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Peters has his feet on Jenkins's thighs here. He's pushed Jenkins off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Jenkins screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
