And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Lucas!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Dam has a takedown stuffed.
Van Dam misses with a looping right.
Lucas is looking to clinch but Van Dam is avoiding it.
Van Dam uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lucas.
Lucas leaves Van Dam with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Van Dam decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Van Dam tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lucas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Van Dam is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lucas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Van Dam.
Lucas is not content to let Van Dam control the position.

Lucas pushes Van Dam off looking to stand but Van Dam dives back in and keeps control.

Van Dam looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lucas keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lucas can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lucas throws a head kick that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lucas throws a wild body kick that Van Dam sees coming a mile off.
Van Dam throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lucas tries to land a front kick but Van Dam steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Travis Lucas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Van Dam fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lucas avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Axel Van Dam. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Van Dam throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lucas's waist but Lucas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Van Dam off to one side.
Van Dam with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lucas to score with a decent uppercut.
Van Dam misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lucas.
Van Dam looks to land a left hand but Lucas moved out of range nicely.
Van Dam fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A good leg kick by Lucas.
Nice uppercut there from Van Dam.
Van Dam throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Lucas lands a glancing blow to the side of Van Dam's head.
Van Dam walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Lucas moves in looking to clinch but Van Dam pushes him off.
Lucas jabs at Van Dam's body.
Van Dam is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lucas has closed the distance and engaged Van Dam in a clinch.

Lucas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Van Dam misses the jab.
Lucas throws a quick head kick that knocks Van Dam silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Lucas is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
