Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mordechai Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Peterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mordechai Marx! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marx lands an overhand right. Marx misses with a body kick. Peterson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Marx takes a swing at Peterson's ribcage but misses. Marx throws a solid leg kick but Peterson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Marx. Peterson shoots in for a takedown but Marx shows good takedown defense. Marx has taken the fight to the clinch.
Peterson tries to pull guard but Marx won't allow it.
Peterson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Peterson wants to clinch and Marx counters with a nice double leg into side control. Peterson won't be happy with that. This has been an exciting period of action! Peterson is looking to reverse the position. Peterson gets back to half guard. Marx is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marx slows the pace down in half guard. Marx wants to get back to his feet.
Peterson tries to kick Marx off but Marx keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Marx wants to stand but Peterson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Marx prevents Peterson from improving his position. Marx controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Peterson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Marx lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Peterson circles away quickly and effectively. Peterson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Peterson has his takedown stuffed letting Marx counter with a right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Peterson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peterson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Peterson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Peterson looking to throw knees to the head but Marx is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Peterson moves out of range of the strikes. Peterson moves out of range of the body kick. Peterson closes the distance and clinches up with Marx, looking for a takedown. Peterson pushes Marx against the cage but Marx circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Marx throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A swing and a miss from Marx. Marx with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Peterson is breathing heavily. Marx closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Marx lands in his opponent's guard. Marx gets to his feet. Peterson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Peterson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Marx counters with a nice right hand that sends Peterson toppling to the canvas! Peterson scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Marx finish him?!
It looks like Mike Peterson has been cut. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Peterson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marx sends Peterson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Marx is motioning to the referee to let Peterson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Peterson is rocked! Mike Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Peterson tries to get into range but Marx steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Peterson! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Marx scores the big KO victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mordechai Marx!
