Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Niko Batchiska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Sebastien Blais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blais has chosen Metallica - One as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Niko Batchiska!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Sebastien Blais!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blais closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Batchiska looks like he's trying to stand up.
Blais wants to control but Batchiska is keeping him busy.
Blais stalling away here and it's allowed Batchiska to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Blais won't allow Batchiska to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Batchiska looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blais is one step ahead there.
Blais wants to control from the top but Batchiska keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fight stays on the outside here - Blais looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Blais's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Blais just misses with a elbow thrown towards Batchiska's brow.

Blais tries to pull guard but Batchiska holds him up against the cage and eventually Blais drops back down to his feet.

Batchiska decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Blais, up you get!

Batchiska swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Batchiska will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Blais doesn't manage to clinch there - Batchiska circles away.
Batchiska tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blais paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Batchiska throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Batchiska decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Blais changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Batchiska tries to avoid it but Blais manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Batchiska to the ground. Batchiska escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
