The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sultan keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Silva looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sultan keeps the fight on the outside.
Sultan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but Sultan persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.
Sultan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.
Sultan shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Silva pushes Sultan up against the cage in a clinch.

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sultan avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Sultan shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Sultan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sultan.
Sultan shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Sultan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sultan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sultan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Sultan's legs - danger averted.
Silva would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sultan has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though.
