PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Paul Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bert Ernie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bert Ernie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ernie tries to avoid it but Thomas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ernie to the ground. Ernie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Thomas closes the distance and pushes Ernie back into the cage.

Thomas pulls guard successfully.
Ernie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Thomas is keeping the position for now.
Thomas wants to get back to his feet but Ernie is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ernie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Thomas looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Thomas looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Thomas!
Ernie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thomas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Ernie gets back to half guard.
Thomas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ernie's head.
Ernie is trying to get back to full guard.
Thomas wants to pass the guard but Ernie is defending well.
Thomas throwing shots but Ernie is blocking nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ernie is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Thomas is tapping! Great win for Ernie!
