Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jutta Urpilainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Dolpin!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Urpilainen rushes Dolpin and presses him up against the cage.
Dolpin crunches a lovely knee into Urpilainen's ribcage.

Urpilainen gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Dolpin keeping full guard, as Urpilainen tries to pass.
Dolpin working a defensive guard here.
Urpilainen lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dolpin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dolpin keeping moving, preventing Urpilainen from controlling successfully.
Dolpin is looking to stand up but Urpilainen isn't so interested in that idea.
Dolpin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Urpilainen slaps away a takedown attempt from Dolpin, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Urpilainen shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Dolpin tries to get to full guard but Urpilainen has control of the leg.

Urpilainen is looking to advance position but Dolpin won't allow it.

Urpilainen trying to work for an americana but Dolpin has managed to regain full guard.
Urpilainen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Urpilainen drops back looking for a leg! Dolpin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dolpin manages to kick Urpilainen off! Urpilainen jumps back into Dolpin's guard.

Dolpin is looking for a triangle but Urpilainen pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dolpin keeping moving, preventing Urpilainen from controlling successfully.

Urpilainen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dolpin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Urpilainen, into his guard.
Urpilainen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dolpin's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Urpilainen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Urpilainen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Urpilainen is breathing heavily.
Urpilainen passes Dolpin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Urpilainen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Urpilainen is working for a submission of some sort.
Urpilainen is keen to just control but Dolpin is a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dolpin is defending against the submission attempts here by Urpilainen.

Urpilainen is trying for a kimura here. Dolpin looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Urpilainen wins by kimura!
