Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Junior Zappa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liste Pik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Junior Zappa has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Junior Zappa seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Junior Zappa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liste Pik!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pik takes one on the button.
Pik avoids the head kick by Zappa.
Zappa misses with a looping left.
Pik gets a takedown into half guard.
Pik sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Zappa defending well though.
Pik is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Zappa is just riding it out for now. Pik eventually gives up the hold.
Pik is taking a breather. Zappa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Pik is trying to work for a kimura but Zappa is defending well.

Zappa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Pik controlling the action here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zappa gets back to full guard.
Pik postures up in Zappa's guard and throws a big left but Zappa blocks it.
Pik must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Zappa keeping moving, preventing Pik from controlling successfully.
Pik throwing strikes but missing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pik lands a couple of digs.
Pik loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Zappa looking to control.
Pik wants to pass the guard but Zappa is keeping the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pik changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zappa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Zappa is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pik's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Zappa wants to control but Pik is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Zappa won't allow Pik to pass to mount.

Pik is controlling the pace.
Pik throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Zappa manages to get to full guard.
Zappa trying to keep a closed guard but Pik is proving a slippery customer.
Pik wants to control from the top but Zappa keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zappa tries to strike from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pik stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zappa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Zappa is trying to keep Pik in close.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pik accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Pik tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zappa swivels and escapes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Liste Pik dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pik has a takedown stuffed.
A jab from Zappa misses.
Pik moves out of range of the body kick.
Pik scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Zappa manages to work his way to half guard, despite Pik's best efforts.
Pik wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zappa keeps working.

Zappa controls Pik momentarily but Pik frees himself.
Pik slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Zappa.

Pik in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Pik postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Zappa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pik wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Check out the look on Pik's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Pik thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zappa's head.
The fighters are battling for position here. Zappa manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Zappa lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pik!
Zappa goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pik is on top in guard.

Pik lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Pik drops back, looking for a kneebar! Zappa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Zappa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Zappa!
Zappa goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Pik rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Zappa's guard! Nice work there by Pik!
Pik postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Pik gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Junior Zappa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pik slips under a jab.
Pik scores a takedown into full mount!
Pik scoring with strikes but Zappa is staying in there.
Zappa is desperately trying to improve his position but Pik has a good base and remains in mount.
Pik lands a heavy elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Liste Pik showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Zappa jabs Pik right on the nose. Pik blinks but takes it well.
Pik bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pik connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Zappa some visible discomfort.
Zappa is looking for a sweep.
