Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saint Pierre shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Arona but Arona pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Arona misses with a takedown attempt
and Saint Pierre counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Arona keeps the fight on the outside.
Arona with a lazy takedown attempt
and Saint Pierre holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Saint Pierre pulls guard effortlessly.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Arona postures up.
Arona is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Arona postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Saint Pierre is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Arona, into his guard.
Arona keeping moving, preventing Saint Pierre from controlling successfully.

Saint Pierre got a little sloppy there for a moment and Arona has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Saint Pierre has managed to get both his arms back between Arona's legs - danger averted.

Saint Pierre stands up and waves to Arona to follow him.
Arona fails with the takedown
and Saint Pierre cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Steven Saint Pierre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Arona.

and Saint Pierre counters with a nice double leg into side control. Arona won't be happy with that.
Arona tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Saint Pierre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Arona keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saint Pierre is looking to take a break and control but Arona is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Arona tries to buck Saint Pierre off but Saint Pierre is having none of it.
Saint Pierre stands up and beckons Arona to his feet.
Arona shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Saint Pierre counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Arona!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Arona working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Saint Pierre has passed into half guard!
Saint Pierre decides to stand up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
