Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Giani Suarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Swick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Giani Suarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Swick!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Suarez.
Suarez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Swick looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Swick shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Swick shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Suarez pushes Swick off looking to stand but Swick dives back in and keeps control.
Swick tries to pass to full mount but Suarez defends it.
Suarez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Swick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Suarez keeps working.
Suarez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Suarez wants to get back to his feet.
Swick is trying to control the action in half guard but Suarez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suarez is in trouble now - Swick has advanced to mount!
Suarez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Swick on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Swick looking to finish with strikes here!
Suarez tries to buck Swick off but he can't manage it.
Swick has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Suarez's face.

Swick looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Suarez tries to hold on but Swick postures up.

Swick is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Suarez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Suarez shrugs it off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Swick looks gassed!
Suarez is looking to improve his position but Swick isn't that keen on the idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Suarez is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Suarez throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Suarez is trying to escape the mount.
Swick looking to finish Suarez with some ground and pound. This is bad for Suarez!
Swick content just to control the position here.
Suarez tries to lock up and control but Swick gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Suarez is desperately trying to improve his position but Swick has a good base and remains in mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Swick fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Swick can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Suarez is looking to escape.
Suarez throwing hammer fists to the chest of Swick. What's that going to do exactly?
Suarez is trying desperately to improve position.
Suarez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Swick jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Suarez is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Suarez and Swick has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Suarez can't do much from the bottom here.
Suarez is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Swick asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Suarez tries to improve position but can't.
Swick has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Suarez!
Suarez is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Swick lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Suarez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Suarez tries to get out of the position.
Swick landing strikes, looking to finish!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Suarez punching to the body and holding on for dear life.
Suarez is trying to escape the mount.

Swick looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Swick dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Suarez tries a head kick but it misses.
Swick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Suarez tries to avoid it but Swick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Suarez to the ground. Suarez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Suarez throws a nice looking combination but Swick bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Swick shoots in but no luck this time.

Suarez drops Swick with a beautiful combination! Swick stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Suarez is looking for the KO!


Swick is rocked!


It looks like Mike Swick has been cut.
Suarez is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Swick flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Swick is out cold! Suarez holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Giani Suarez!
