Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddy Gordo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hardy has chosen Rock the Casbah as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy lands a jab.

It looks like Eddy Gordo has been cut.
Hardy's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Hardy duly obliges.

Hardy drops Gordo with a beautiful combination! Gordo stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hardy is looking for the KO!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Gordo tries to clinch up but Hardy circles away and keeps his distance.
Hardy shoots in and drives through. Gordo sprawls well.
Gordo shoots in but no luck this time.
Hardy connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hardy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hardy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hardy throws a nice looking combination but Gordo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Paul Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hardy thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gordo if he has to take too many more of those.

Hardy lands a really nice looking cross but Gordo seems unphased.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gordo is fighting to break Hardy's control of his arms but Hardy is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Gordo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gordo stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Hardy scores with a hook to the body. Gordo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hardy lands a nice shot that snaps Gordo's head back.
Hardy misses with a few strikes there.

Hardy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gordo to the mat! Gordo manages to get full guard.

Gordo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hardy manages to get himself to full guard.

Gordo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hardy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gordo, into his guard.

Hardy is working Gordo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Gordo is working an open guard so Hardy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gordo is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hardy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

A frustrated look appears on Hardy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
