PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Allan Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bing Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bong comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Voices kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bing Bong has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Allan Ramos's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Allan Ramos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Bing Bong!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bong gets a takedown into half guard.
Nice strikes from Bong there.
Ramos is looking to improve his position.
Bong is nestled in close to Ramos, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Bong is looking to advance position but Ramos won't allow it.
Ramos regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bong.

Ramos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bong trying to control the position from guard on top but Ramos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bong looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Ramos wants to stand up but Bong is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ramos isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Bong stacks Ramos on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Bong!
Ramos tries to bench press Bong off him but Bong keeps the position.
Bong in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Ramos takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Bong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ramos trying to control but Bong flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Ramos turns into Bong and is now in his guard.
Ramos trying to control but Bong is working from the bottom.
Ramos content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Ramos slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bong tries to bench press Ramos off him but Ramos keeps the position.
You can see the frustration on Bong's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Ramos controls the position.
Ramos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bong keeps working.
Bong is trying to improve his position.
Ramos takes a little break here. Bong wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A head kick misses from Bong.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ramos wants to clinch up but Bong keeps it at a distance.
Ramos doesn't manage to clinch there - Bong circles away.
Bong ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ramos moves away.
Allan Ramos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bong missing with a left hand there. Ramos was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ramos stuns Bong with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ramos slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Ramos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Bong counters with a single leg into guard. Ramos didn't expect that.
Ramos not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bong trying to control but Ramos is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bing Bong will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Bong avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ramos lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bong circles away quickly and effectively.
Bong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ramos.
Bong throws a hook to the side of Ramos's head but Ramos sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ramos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ramos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bong but Bong pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ramos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bong.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A punch combination from Ramos misses.
Bong circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bong fails with the takedown
and Ramos counters with a right hand to the body.

Bong takes a swing at Ramos's ribcage but misses.
Bong tries for a takedown but Ramos sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bong is breathing heavily.
Ramos fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bong manages to avoid it.
Ramos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ramos throws a combination. Bong tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Ramos shoots in for a takedown but Bong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ramos scores with a nice right hand.
Ramos looks to throw the jab but Bong is out of range.
Bong throws a head kick but Ramos moves out of range.
Ramos defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bong.
Allan Ramos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bing Bong.

Bong misses with a looping right.
Bong swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ramos counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ramos misses with a wild body shot.
Bong closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ramos circles away.

and Bong counters with a takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bong sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ramos is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Ramos takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Ramos wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Ramos trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Bong trying to control the position but Ramos is working away.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bong avoids the body shot from Ramos.

and Bong counters with a shoot takedown. Ramos fights it but they end up in guard.

Bong postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bong prevents Ramos from getting back to his feet.

Bong makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bong looking to sit in guard and control but Ramos gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ramos trying to control the position from guard on top but Bong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bong wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ramos wants to control from the top but Bong keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Allan Ramos dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Bong throws a head kick that misses.
Ramos ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Ramos misses with the combination.
Bong dives in and grabs Ramos's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ramos pushes down on Bong's head and hops out.

and Bong counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bong.
Bong is looking to work some ground and pound but Ramos has wrist control.
Ramos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ramos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bong defends it easily.
Bong trying to control but Ramos is working from the bottom.
Bong takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bong pushes down on Ramos's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Ramos is refusing to be controlled, as Bong sits in half guard.
Ramos wants to control but Bong is keeping busy.
Ramos is trying to get back to full guard.
Bong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ramos's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bong thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bong fails with the takedown.
Bong takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ramos lands an overhand right.
Ramos looks to land a combination but Bong avoids it well.
Ramos cracks Bong with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Bong gets caught flat footed, as Ramos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ramos wants to control from the top but Bong keeps moving.

Bong working for a triangle but Ramos defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ramos seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bong for as long as he can get away with.

Bong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ramos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bong controls Ramos momentarily but Ramos frees himself.
Bong keeping moving, preventing Ramos from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ramos throws a one two combo.
Ramos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bong was well out of range. Poor timing from Ramos.
Ramos throws a shot to the body.
Bong takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Ramos drops Bong with a right and a left! Ramos comes rushing in but Bong regains his composure and manages to keep Ramos in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bong not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

And that's the end of the fight!
Allan Ramos showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Ramos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
