Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Ming Chang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hitoshi Masaru!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ming Chang closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Masaru to the mat! Masaru manages to get full guard.

Ming Chang gets to his feet. Masaru looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dave Ming Chang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Masaru shoots and misses

and Ming Chang counters with a takedown into side control.
Masaru wants to control but Ming Chang postures up.

Ming Chang decides to stand up, so the ref orders Masaru to his feet.
Masaru gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ming Chang counters with a right hand to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ming Chang fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Masaru sprawls well initially but Ming Chang persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Ming Chang is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Masaru has escaped the position, nice work there.
Masaru tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ming Chang wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

and Ming Chang makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ming Chang lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Hitoshi Masaru has been cut.
Ming Chang is looking to wear down Masaru with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Ming Chang decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Ming Chang counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ming Chang shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ming Chang was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ming Chang gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Masaru tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Ming Chang shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Masaru napping and manages to drive through into side control!

and Masaru takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ming Chang scores with a jab. Masaru acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Ming Chang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ming Chang.
Masaru is trying desperately to land a takedown but Ming Chang is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Masaru.

Dave Ming Chang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ming Chang cracks Masaru with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Ming Chang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Masaru looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Ming Chang throws a looping overhand right but Masaru ducks down to avoid it.

Dave Ming Chang is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Ming Chang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
