Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rua closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hook did well to prevent Rua getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rua is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hook is looking for a sweep. Rua is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rua seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hook does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rua seems to be looking for submissions.
Rua throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hook is refusing to be controlled, as Rua sits in half guard.
Hook really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hook tries to roll over but Rua keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rua throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hook's waist but Hook gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rua off to one side.
Hook lands a nice shot that snaps Rua's head back.
Hook throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Maurico Rua has been cut.
Rua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hook pinned against the cage. Hook gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Roy Hook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hook lands a jab.

Rua finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Some wild striking there from Hook.
Hook stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Hook lands a hook that stumbles Rua back into the cage. Hook follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Rua to the canvas! Hook pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Rua has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
