PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Pace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daevon Eldon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eldon has chosen Lynyrd Skynyrd-Gimme Back my Bullets as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Daevon Eldon has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Charlie Pace's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eldon jumps guard and drags Pace to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Eldon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pace. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pace avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pace has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Eldon is proving hard to escape from.
Eldon has his hands on Pace's head, controlling the position.
Pace would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pace wants to stand and escape but instead Eldon has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Eldon is looking to control Pace's arms but Pace gets an underhook and turns him. Now Eldon has his back to the cage.

Eldon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pace walks away with a smile on his face. Eldon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Charlie Pace has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daevon Eldon.

Pace is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Eldon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Eldon's back!
Pace is not going to allow Eldon to sit and survive in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eldon controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Pace has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Eldon has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pace looking to break Eldon's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Eldon remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pace will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

That's time! Pace's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Eldon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pace manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Pace has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Eldon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Eldon is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Eldon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pace is proving hard to escape from.

Pace escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Eldon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pace is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Eldon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Eldon postures up and lands a big shot to Pace's brow.

Eldon stands and steps away. Pace gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pace gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
