Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between faisal ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Planck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doug Planck has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Planck gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Planck works his way into side control.
ali trying to remain calm as Planck controls from the top position.
Planck throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
ali stops Planck from passing to mount.
Planck remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Planck decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Planck throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. ali was covering up waiting for the punch and Planck finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Planck fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. ali sprawls well initially but Planck persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
