PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Badr Hari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendan Wertman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wertman has chosen No One Loves Me and Neither Do I as his entrance music. Badr Hari had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Badr Hari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brendan Wertman!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wertman throws a right and a left that Hari avoids nicely.
Wertman tries a head kick but it misses.

Wertman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Wertman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Wertman wants to pass to mount but Hari is defending the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Wertman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hari was covering up waiting for the punch and Wertman finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Wertman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wertman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hari stuffs the takedown attempt from Wertman. Wertman gets slowly back to his feet.

BOOM! Wertman connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Brendan Wertman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Wertman lands a head kick. Hari smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Hari circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wertman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hari sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wertman somewhat.

Wertman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hari's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wertman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Wertman throws a head kick that misses
and Hari counters with a nice uppercut.
Wertman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hari sprawls well. Hari wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wertman gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wertman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hari is fending him off so far but Wertman persists. Nope, Hari circles away and we're back to standing.
Badr Hari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brendan Wertman.
Wertman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hari avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Wertman.
Hari is not content to let Wertman control the position.

Hari on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Wertman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wertman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Wertman misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hari dodges the ground and pound from Wertman.
Hari takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Wertman connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hari some visible discomfort.
Wertman is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The strikes coming from Wertman are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Badr Hari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Brendan Wertman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wertman wants to control but Hari is keeping him busy.

Well Wertman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
