Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Pappa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tito Tutter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pappa's entrance music is DJ Icey - The One. A fine choice. Eddie Pappa has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Pappa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tito Tutter!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pappa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Pappa gets a takedown into half guard.
Tutter flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tutter regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Pappa.
Tutter wants to sweep here but Pappa controlling him for the moment.
Pappa wants to stand but Tutter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tutter keeping moving, preventing Pappa from controlling successfully.
Pappa throwing strikes but missing.

Tutter is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A jab from Pappa finds it's way through Tutter's defenses.
Tutter fails with a takedown attempt.
Tutter is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Pappa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pappa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pappa prevents Tutter from getting the reversal.

Pappa has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tutter's face.
Tutter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Tutter regains half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tutter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pappa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pappa's back!
Tutter is not going to allow Pappa to sit and survive in this position.
Tutter wants to control but Pappa is keeping busy.
Pappa wants to get back to his feet.

Pappa manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.

Pappa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Pappa postures up in Tutter's guard and throws a big left but Tutter blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tutter looking for subs off his back but Pappa has passed one foot through into half guard.

Well, if Pappa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Tutter shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.


It looks like Tito Tutter has been cut.

Pappa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Tutter is trying to defend but Pappa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Pappa winds up and cracks Tutter with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Pappa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tutter defends it well.
Tutter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tutter.
Pappa postures up.

Tutter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pappa is aware though and is defending well.

Pappa lands a couple of elbows.
Tutter is breathing heavily.

Tutter is trying to maintain the position but Pappa is very close to passing his half guard.

Pappa seems to be working for a kimura but Tutter defends the submission attempt.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pappa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pappa throws a big right hand that misses.
Pappa postures up in Tutter's guard and throws a big left but Tutter blocks it.
Tutter is trying to hold Pappa in close to prevent damage but Pappa has managed to pass into half guard.
Tutter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pappa is working away from the top position though.
Tutter is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pappa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pappa lands in his opponent's guard.
Pappa scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddie Pappa dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Tito Tutter's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Pappa lands a jab-cross combination.

Pappa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tutter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Tutter takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Check out the look on Pappa's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Tutter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tutter is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Pappa stands up out of the half guard.
Pappa lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pappa.

Pappa gets a clinch.

Pappa decides to pull guard.
Pappa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tutter is controlling him.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pappa is on top in guard.
Pappa connects with a couple of short punches.
Pappa trying to control but Tutter is working from the bottom.
Eddie Pappa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pappa postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Tutter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Pappa stands and steps away. Tutter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pappa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tutter gets back to half guard.
Pappa working over Tutter with some ground and pound. Tutter looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pappa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tutter's head.
Pappa throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Tutter trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
BOOM! Pappa connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Pappa lands a heavy elbow.
Pappa landing strikes from the mount.
Pappa pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Pappa is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tutter can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tito Tutter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Pappa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
