Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Sewell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vampire V (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Sewell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vampire V!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

V has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sewell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. V just stands there and leans against the cage.
V stops a takedown attempt from Sewell.
Sewell could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sewell prevents V from breaking the clinch.

Sewell drags the fight down to the ground.
Sewell manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sewell trying to control but V is having none of it.
V is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Sewell has control of V's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and V regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Sewell looking to finish with strikes here!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sewell gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Sewell pushes V up against the cage in a clinch.

Sewell gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, V regains guard.
V wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
V preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sewell scoring with some ground and pound.
V throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Sewell wants to stand but V is controlling his posture from full guard.
Sewell won't allow V to sweep him here.

V escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sewell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
V is trying to control the position from the bottom.
V has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
V wants to stand but Sewell is controlling the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
V is looking to clinch but Sewell is avoiding it.
V misses with a takedown attempt - Sewell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sewell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

V moves into the clinch.

V successfully pulls guard.
Sewell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
V wants to sweep but no luck.
Sewell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
V looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

V is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sewell wants to control from the top but V keeps moving.

V is working an open guard so Sewell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Sewell drives through and clinches with V against the cage.

Sewell has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed V clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Sewell working for a choke but V reverses nicely into Sewell 's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


No luck with that takedown attempt from V.
Vampire V seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sewell stuffs the takedown attempt from V. V gets slowly back to his feet.

V forces Sewell back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sewell taking a breather.

Sewell has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed V clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Sewell is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at V. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
V is breathing heavily.

V trying to control the hands but Sewell breaks the grip.
Sewell landing with strikes.
Sewell is looking to control V but V is wriggling around and keeping busy.

V defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Sewell's arms.

Sewell is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. V defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
V tries to break free.
Sewell is striking from the back but V escapes and manages to recover to half guard.
Sewell prevents V from improving his position.
Sewell is just content to waste time from the top position. V takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Sewell trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but V manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
V trying to control the position from guard on top but Sewell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
V might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sewell kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
V wanted to stand there but Sewell had control of the position.
Sewell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sewell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst V is controlling him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

V shoots in and bounces Sewell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
V being controlled here momentarily.
V throws a big right hand that misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sewell throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joshua Sewell dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Sewell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. V tries to avoid it but Sewell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag V to the ground. V escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
V throws a series of punches but Sewell moves out of range.
V looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sewell fails with a takedown attempt.
Sewell circles away from the clinch attempt
and Sewell counters with a three punch combo that has V backing up. V nods at Sewell to acknowledge the strikes.
V misses with a takedown

and Sewell decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in V's guard.
Sewell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. V is keeping the position for now.
V wants to sweep here but Sewell controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
V lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sewell!

V jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sewell manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Sewell manages to get back to half guard.
V looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
V is trying to control the action in half guard but Sewell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
V tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sewell knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Sewell wants to control but V is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sewell wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
V throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Sewell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in V's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

V looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sewell wants to control from the top but V keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
V is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Sewell drops back, looking for a kneebar! V looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. V looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from V!

V is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sewell has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sewell can't do much from the bottom here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sewell manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Sewell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but V pulls his head out easily.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. V lands a nice short elbow.
V trying to control the pace.
Joshua Sewell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
V is trying to control the action in half guard but Sewell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Vampire V has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joshua Sewell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Sewell manages to escape and get back to his feet!

And that's the end of the fight!
Joshua Sewell showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sewell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
