Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jyrki Kapane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pate Rakko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jyrki Kapane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pate Rakko!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kapane gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rakko to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Rakko wants to control from the top but Kapane keeps moving.
Kapane looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rakko is one step ahead there.

Rakko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rakko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Rakko stays in close to Kapane's body and controls the position.
Rakko stops Kapane from standing up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Kapane wants to sweep here but Rakko controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rakko trying to control the position from guard on top but Kapane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Kapane shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Rakko counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kapane is breathing heavily.

Rakko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Rakko wants to work for an arm triangle but Kapane is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Rakko is looking to take a break and control but Kapane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rakko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kapane does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rakko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kapane is looking for a sweep. Rakko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rakko is looking for a kimura but Kapane is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rakko to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rakko seems to be working for a kimura but Kapane defends the submission attempt.
Kapane might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rakko wants to work for an arm triangle but Kapane is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kapane wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rakko has his takedown stuffed

and Kapane decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rakko's guard.

Rakko looking for a guillotine here but Kapane defends easily.
Rakko wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kapane is now in half guard.

Kapane lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rakko works his way to full guard. Good work.

Rakko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Rakko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kapane pushes down on Rakko's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rakko gets full guard.

Kapane got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rakko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kapane has managed to get both his arms back between Rakko's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pate Rakko dominated that round.
That's time! Kapane's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kapane looks for a takedown but Rakko sprawls well.

and Kapane counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rakko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kapane tries to avoid it but Rakko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kapane to the ground. Kapane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kapane wants to clinch but Rakko slips to the side

and Rakko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kapane's guard now.
Rakko is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Kapane seems keen to control Rakko's posture.
Rakko trying to control the position from guard on top but Kapane is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kapane wants to sweep here but Rakko controlling him for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rakko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Rakko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kapane is keeping the position for now.

Kapane kicks Rakko off and gets to his feet.
Rakko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kapane as he jumps to the side.
Jyrki Kapane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pate Rakko.

Kapane wants to take a breather but Rakko is having none of it.
Kapane wants to stand up but Rakko is controlling the position.

Rakko has his foot on Kapane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kapane works his way back into a safe position though.

Rakko is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kapane defends well.

Rakko has his foot on Kapane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kapane works his way back into a safe position though.

Kapane with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rakko is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Rakko seems to be working for a kimura but Kapane defends the submission attempt.
Kapane wants to improve his position but Rakko is controlling well.
Rakko is keen to just control but Kapane is a slippery customer.

Kapane makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kapane.

Pate Rakko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Rakko misses with a takedown attempt

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kapane connects with a nice short shot to Rakko's temple.

Kapane looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rakko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rakko jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kapane manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Kapane wants to control but Rakko postures up.
Kapane is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Rakko has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Rakko is staying tight to Kapane's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Rakko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kapane keeps working.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

You can see the frustration on Kapane's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Pate Rakko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Pate Rakko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rakko winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
