PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Felix Sturdivant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Ron Rex was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felix Sturdivant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ron Rex!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex blocks a jab.
Sturdivant shoots for a double leg takedown but Rex sprawls well. He's pushed Sturdivant's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sturdivant wants to clinch.
Rex shoots in looking for a takedown. Sturdivant tries to sprawl out of it but Rex keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sturdivant manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rex cracks Sturdivant with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Rex throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Rex tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sturdivant sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rex somewhat.
Sturdivant takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sturdivant lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Rex closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sturdivant did well to prevent Rex getting side control.
