Gracie kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is A Day to Remember - . Tota Gracie has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maia to the mat! Maia manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maia controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Maia defends it well.

Gracie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gracie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maia was well out of range. Poor timing from Gracie.
