Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregores Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave Jones will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mendez.
Jones walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Mendez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jones ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Jones looks to land a combination. Mendez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Mendez seems to be looking for submissions.
Jones regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mendez.
Mendez pushes down on Jones's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Jones is looking to escape.
Mendez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mendez is working for a guillotine from mount but Jones frees his head quite easily.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mendez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
