PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bryan K (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janik Sarkisyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sarkisyan's choice of entrance music: "Smack My Bitch Up" by Prodigy. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bryan K!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Janik Sarkisyan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
K moves in looking to clinch but Sarkisyan pushes him off.
Sarkisyan connects with a crisp jab.

K closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sarkisyan did well to prevent K getting side control.

K stands up out of the half guard.
Sarkisyan throws a nice looking combination but K bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Sarkisyan throws a series of strikes that have K backpedaling.

Sarkisyan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

K is looking for a sweep. Sarkisyan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

K wants to control from the top but Sarkisyan keeps moving.

Sarkisyan wants to stand and escape but K is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
K pulls out of a head kick attempt.
K shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Sarkisyan shoots in and drives through. K sprawls well.
The fight stays on the outside here - K looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
K slips a jab and a cross from Sarkisyan.

K tries to clinch up.

K bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sarkisyan is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
K trying to control the position but Sarkisyan is working away.
Sarkisyan wants to get back to his feet but K is dominant here and he's now got Sarkisyan's back!

Sarkisyan is trying to shake K off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! K won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

Sarkisyan throws a right hand that K ducks under and follows up with a left that K also avoids with ease.

K throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sarkisyan's waist but Sarkisyan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing K off to one side.

Sarkisyan throws a leg kick which misses K's front leg but catches the back leg as K tries to avoid it.
K tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sarkisyan swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sarkisyan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between K's hands.

K drops his hands momentarily and Sarkisyan takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sarkisyan goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Bryan K is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

K is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

K swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Sarkisyan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

and K holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

K is trying to break the clinch but Sarkisyan is controlling him.
K swings wildly with an uppercut but Sarkisyan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sarkisyan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but K gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Sarkisyan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

K shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sarkisyan sprawls well. Sarkisyan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. K gets slowly back to his feet.

Janik Sarkisyan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sarkisyan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
