Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Nuterro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nuterro wants to clinch up but Soares keeps it at a distance.
Nuterro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Soares throws a left that rocks Nuterro and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Soares dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Nuterro regain composure!

It looks like Ivan Nuterro has been cut.
Soares gets to mount! Nuterro was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Oh Nuterro is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Soares has the hooks in. Nuterro is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Nuterro is looking to work some ground and pound but Soares has wrist control.
Nuterro works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Nuterro tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Soares.
Nuterro is trying to control. Soares wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Soares is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nuterro's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nuterro's back!

Nuterro wants to get up but he can't break Soares's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Nuterro tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nuterro has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Soares is refusing to be controlled, as Nuterro sits in half guard.

Soares looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Nuterro has picked Soares up and slammed him! Soares can't keep hold of the triangle and Nuterro manages to pass to side control!
Nuterro is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Nuterro is looking to advance position but Soares won't allow it.

Nuterro is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Soares manages to escape and get back to his feet!

That was a close second round but I would say that Ivan Nuterro will probably get the nod.

Nuterro shoots in for a takedown but Soares shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Soares scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Soares manages to escape and get back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nuterro wants to take a breather but Soares is having none of it.

Soares has his feet on Nuterro's thighs here. He's pushed Nuterro off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Nuterro screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
