Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenshin Batusai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jesus Mendes is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batusai swats away the attempt to clinch by Mendes.

Mendes is staying active underneath Batusai, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Mendes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Batusai is working away from the top position though.

Mendes lands with a kick to the temple. Batusai shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Mendes tries to close the distance and clinch but Batusai swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Batusai has Mendes pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Batusai pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mendes tumbling to the mat - Batusai dives into Mendes's guard.

Mendes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Batusai looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Batusai looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Batusai!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mendes is looking to regain half guard here but Batusai keeps moving and retains side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mendes can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Batusai wants to take a breather but Mendes is having none of it.

and Batusai moves into the clinch.
Batusai blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Batusai keeps control of Mendes as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Batusai gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mendes regains guard.

Kenshin Batusai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Batusai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mendes swivels and escapes.
Mendes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mendes wants it to stay on the feet.
Mendes tries to clinch there but Batusai circles away.
Batusai fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jesus Mendes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenshin Batusai.
Batusai shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mendes counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Batusai is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Mendes throws a nice outside leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mendes, right into the meat.
Mendes tries to clinch there but Batusai circles away.

and Batusai counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mendes won't be happy with that.
Batusai takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mendes is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Batusai off and has taken his back!
Kenshin Batusai has got the better of the ground game so far.

Mendes has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Batusai has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Mendes is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Batusai is trying to defend against the choke here but Mendes has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Mendes Tightens the hold and Batusai taps out furiously! Mendes displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
