Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dhughel McVey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Jonson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Don Jonson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dhughel McVey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Jonson!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McVey slips a jab and a cross from Jonson.
Jonson throws a right and a left that McVey avoids nicely.
Jonson throws a right hand that McVey ducks under and follows up with a left that McVey also avoids with ease.
Jonson looks to land a right hand but McVey moved out of range.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Jonson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from McVey - the referee stops the clock and Jonson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says McVey. Jonson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Good leg kick by McVey there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Jonson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jonson manages to end up in side control.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jonson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

McVey shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jonson sprawls well. Jonson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McVey gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jonson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jonson got a little sloppy there for a moment and McVey has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jonson has managed to get both his arms back between McVey's legs - danger averted.
McVey wants to stand and escape but Jonson is having none of it.
