Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Pedreiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Fedro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pedro Fedro is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fedro feints and as Pedreiro raises his hands in defense, Fedro changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pedreiro looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Fedro tries to free his leg and advance position but Pedreiro is retaining full guard.
Pedreiro is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Fedro looking to pass the guard.
Fedro forces his way into half guard.
Fedro seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Fedro gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Fedro has managed to clinch.

Fedro tightens his grip and picks Pedreiro up, before dumping him to the ground. Pedreiro manages to land in guard.
Fedro stays in close to Pedreiro's body and controls the position.
Fedro trying to control the position from guard on top but Pedreiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fedro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fedro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Pedreiro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fedro's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Fedro lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fedro decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pedreiro takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Pedreiro is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Fedro.

Fedro pushes Pedreiro up against the cage in a clinch.

Fedro ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fedro no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Fedro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pedreiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pedreiro is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fedro pulls Pedreiro in close to his closed guard and prevents Pedreiro from doing any damage or advancing position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Pedreiro tries to free his leg and advance position but Fedro is retaining full guard.

Fedro wants to sweep but no luck.
Fedro is trying to control the position but Pedreiro postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pedreiro throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Fedro fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pedreiro sprawls well initially but Fedro persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fedro seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fedro is keen to just control but Pedreiro is a slippery customer.
Fedro takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Pedreiro tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Fedro manages to move to mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fedro tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Pedro Fedro just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pedreiro fails with the takedown

and Fedro counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fedro.
Fedro must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pedreiro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fedro might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pedreiro kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Pedreiro controls Fedro momentarily but Fedro frees himself.

Fedro content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Pedreiro has locked up a guillotine! Pedreiro's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Fedro is holding on here and Pedreiro must be using up a lot of energy. Fedro has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Pedreiro gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
