The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roux throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Simeone's waist but Simeone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roux off to one side.
Roux looks for a takedown but Simeone sprawls well.
Simeone doesn't manage to clinch there - Roux circles away.
Simeone tries to close the distance and clinch but Roux swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Roux changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Simeone looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Simeone pushes Roux away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Roux gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Simeone trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Roux tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Simeone stops Roux from passing to mount.

Roux looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Roux is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Simeone is trying to escape and Roux transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Simeone is forced to tap! Nice work there by Roux! Very nice indeed!
