Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mick Ferris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Horner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Horner comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Deftones kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Mick Ferris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mick Ferris!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kurt Horner!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferris shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ferris scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Horner is trying to improve his position.
Horner wants to control but Ferris postures up.
The strikes coming from Ferris are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Horner tries to improve position but can't.

Ferris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Horner has escaped the position, nice work there.

Ferris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Horner keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ferris slips a straight right by Horner.
Ferris shoots in and drives through. Horner sprawls well.
Horner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ferris tries to avoid it but Horner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ferris to the ground. Ferris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ferris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Horner swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

so Horner counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Ferris will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ferris had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Horner is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Ferris Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Horner's back instead.
Horner just trying to survive but Ferris is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Ferris lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Horner rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Horner is trying to maintain the position but Ferris is very close to passing his half guard.

Horner is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Ferris pulls his head out easily.
Horner wants to control but Ferris is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Ferris throwing shots but Horner is blocking nicely.
Ferris wants to take a breather but Horner is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ferris gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Horner counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ferris won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Horner stands up and we're back to a striking position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ferris takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Ferris drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Horner wants to sweep here but Ferris controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kurt Horner dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Horner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Horner drops back looking for a leg! Ferris is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ferris manages to kick Horner off! Horner jumps back into Ferris's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Horner counters with a left and a right that stings Ferris.

A nice combination there by Horner.

and Horner shoots in for a double leg counter - driving through into a slam and Ferris is out! The slam has knocked him out cold! Devastating for Ferris but Horner is celebrating as the crowd goes wild!
