Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ali Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Truth Is. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson dives in and grabs Newman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Newman pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.
Ali Newman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Newman looks to land a body kick but Johnson moved away.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Newman tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Newman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Newman misses with a two punch combination.
Newman goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Newman shows good takedown defense.
Ali Newman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonas Johnson.
Newman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Newman sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Newman fails to land with a series of punches.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Newman but Newman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Newman stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.

Newman looks to land a body kick but Johnson moved away.

Newman throws a right hand that Johnson ducks under and follows up with a left that Johnson also avoids with ease.
Newman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Newman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Newman sprawls well. Newman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
Johnson looks gassed!
Newman scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Newman looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.

Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.

Newman lands a left and a right that send Johnson crashing to the mat, dazed. Newman thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Johnson is rocked!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Newman fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Johnson square on the jaw! Damn, Johnson is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
