Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, A Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ross The Boss!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Boss keeps the fight on the outside.
Evans tries to clinch but The Boss moves out of range.
Evans is looking to clinch but The Boss is avoiding it.
The Boss tries to bum rush Evans with a series of wild strikes but Evans uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The Boss uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Evans has time to react.
Evans throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and The Boss counters with a nice double leg into side control. Evans won't be happy with that.
Evans is pushing The Boss's head away, looking to escape. The Boss manages to hold on to the position though.
The Boss working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

The Boss decides to stand back up. The Boss steps back and let's Evans get back to his feet.
Evans bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Evans takes the fight into the clinch.
Evans prevents The Boss from breaking the clinch.

Evans manages to break the clinch.
Evans misses with a takedown
and The Boss counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The Boss tries to clinch up but Evans circles away and keeps his distance.
Evans shoots and misses
and The Boss counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

The Boss rushes Evans and presses him up against the cage.
The Boss is pressed up against the cage. Evans has hold of a leg and is looking to drag The Boss down to the mat. The Boss avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for A Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and The Boss counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Evans is breathing heavily.

and The Boss counters with a shoot takedown. Evans fights it but they end up in guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Evans tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Evans takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

enabling The Boss to counter with a crisp jab.

The Boss gets a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The Boss breaks from the clinch.
No joy there for The Boss, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The Boss falls off balance throwing a combination

and Evans counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in The Boss's guard now.

The Boss kicks Evans off and gets to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The Boss clinches with his opponent.
The Boss has Evans pushed against the cage.
Evans drops down looking for an ankle pick but The Boss pulls his leg out and moves away.
The Boss throws a right hand that Evans ducks under and follows up with a left that Evans also avoids with ease.

The Boss fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Evans, pushing him back against the cage.
The Boss lands with a short punch from the clinch.
The Boss gets through Evans's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Evans keeps control of The Boss as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Evans keeps the fight in the clinch, despite The Boss's efforts to push away.

The Boss has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Evans uses from the top position.
The Boss is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The Boss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Evans wants to control from the top but The Boss keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now The Boss is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The Boss with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The Boss decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Evans, up you get!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Evans doesn't succeed with the takedown

and The Boss counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. The Boss connects with a nice short shot to Evans's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ross The Boss dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts The Boss, as that shot connected.
Evans tries for a takedown but The Boss circles away easily

and The Boss counters with a shoot takedown. Evans fights it but they end up in guard.
The Boss is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The Boss has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Evans is proving hard to escape from.
The Boss tries to free his leg and advance position but Evans is retaining full guard.
The Boss wanted to stand there but Evans had control of the position.
The Boss postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The Boss trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom.
The Boss thows a big elbow that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The Boss throws a head kick but Evans moves out of range.
The Boss cracks Evans with an open hand slap.
Evans shoots and misses

and The Boss counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Evans!

The Boss has hold of Evans's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Evans manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The Boss swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Evans is now in The Boss's guard. A big mistake from The Boss there, giving up the dominant position!

Evans has gone for a leg lock! The Boss slips out almost immediately though and dives into Evans's guard.

The Boss stands and steps away. Evans gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The Boss has closed the distance and engaged Evans in a clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from The Boss.
The Boss looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
The Boss lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Evans backwards.
The Boss tries to break the clinch but Evans is controlling the position.
The Boss tries to break free but Evans pushes him back against the cage.

Evans avoids the head kick by The Boss.
A Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The Boss gets to his feet - Evans follows without any prompting.
The Boss fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The Boss seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The Boss wants to advance to full mount but Evans doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Evans is working an open guard so The Boss takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
The Boss might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The Boss drops his hands momentarily and Evans takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The Boss is looking to stand up but Evans isn't so interested in that idea.

The Boss is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Evans shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as The Boss sprawls well. The Boss wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.

Well The Boss has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
