Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sammy Sosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Bones!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sosa throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Frank Bones has been cut.
Sosa moves in looking to clinch but Bones pushes him off.
Sosa shoots in but Bones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sosa tries to clinch up but Bones circles away and keeps his distance.
Bones closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Sosa throws a head kick that misses.
Sosa tries to land a front kick but Bones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bones misses with a few strikes there.
Bones tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Sosa avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Sosa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bones's waist but Bones gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sosa off to one side.
Sosa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bones pinned against the cage. Bones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sosa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sosa somewhat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bones is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
What can Bones do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sosa keeps control of the position as Bones tries to break free.
Sosa is trying to stick to Bones's back but Bones is turning into Sosa. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sosa's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bones.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Sosa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bones avoids it really well and circles away.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Bones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Bones throws a series of punches but Sosa avoids them all with ease.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sosa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sammy Sosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sosa dives in and grabs Bones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bones pushes down on Sosa's head and hops out.

Bones throws a nice looking combination but Sosa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bones motions for Sosa to come forward. Bones throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

and Bones counters with a one-two to the body.
Bones turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Bones scores with a one two! Sosa had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Bones throws a series of punches but Sosa avoids them all with ease.
Bones connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Sammy Sosa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bones lands with a hook. Sosa tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bones lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sosa backs up against the cage.

Sosa takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Sosa throws a lazy right hand but Bones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sosa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sosa tries to move into range but Bones moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Sosa has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Bones throws a right and a left that Sosa avoids nicely.
Sosa takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Bones blocks a head kick by Sosa.
Bones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A combination from Bones does no damage.

Sosa looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Frank Bones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
