The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Twist shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mathews but Mathews pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Twist misses with a takedown attempt - Mathews sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Twist throws a low kick, looking for Mathews's leg but Mathews calmly moves out of range.
Twist cracks a nice hook into Mathews's ribs.

Mathews fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Twist sprawls well initially but Mathews persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
