The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fitzgerald sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fitzgerald closes the distance looking to clinch
and Jones counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Bubba Fitzgerald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fitzgerald misses with a takedown attempt
and Jones counters with a lovely shot to the body.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
